The holidays are packed with important activities and events that should take priority over publishing Facebook posts. Nevertheless, as a business owner you know very well that some things simply must be done. On time.
That being said, we still don’t believe in sacrificing any holiday fun for for social media scheduling this season. So, how do we do it? With a handy tool on Facebook that will allow you to do both!
In this week’s Tech Tip we’re sharing a how-to hack on using Facebook’s Scheduler tool. You may have heard of third party apps with the same function, but beware: Facebook’s algorithm doesn’t like them, meaning your posts will have more success when scheduled directly within Facebook. It will be worth the extra couple of steps we’re sharing with you below, we promise.
Pro tip: Make sure to toggle between personal and business accounts using the black arrow beside the thumbnail of your profile photo shown below, to select the correct account you want to post for.
Make sure ‘Publication’ is ticked, then select the desired date and time for the post to Publish. Click ‘Schedule’.
What if you made a mistake, or want to change the post? You can still edit your scheduled post after it’s been scheduled!
You can access your Scheduled posts two ways. One way is through your admin navigation bar at the top of the Page. Click the arrow next to ‘More’, and select ‘Publishing Tools’ from the drop down menu.
In the left hand toolbar, select Scheduled Posts.
Another way is near the top of your Page’s Timeline, a little info bar that tells you how many Scheduled posts you have in queue. Click See Posts.
Both routes should lead you to the following page:
Click on the Post you want to edit and a preview will show up:
To edit, click ‘Edit’. To Publish immediately, reschedule, or delete, you can find the options in the drop down menu using the arrow next to ‘Edit’.
Now that you’ve learned how to schedule your Facebook posts, you can take care of your content ahead of time and shift your focus to holiday cheer during the moments when it counts. In the meantime, your posting tasks will be executed–on time.
You can use it to post text-based posts, photos, videos, or even polls. Be creative and take advantage of this tool by bulk scheduling your posts for the week–or the month!
